De bekende Belgische poolreiziger en avonturier Dixie Dansercoer (58) is overleden tijdens een expeditie op Groenland, waar hij in een diepe gletsjerkloof gevallen is. Zijn lichaam is nog niet teruggevonden, maar de kans dat hij nog leeft, is onbestaande. Hij ondernam meerdere expedities naar de Noord- en de Zuidpool. Het meest bekend is hij van zijn tocht in 1998 samen met Alain Hubert. "Het is moeilijk te geloven, zo triest", reageert Hubert bijzonder aangeslagen.
